What changes for 2027?

The 2027 Ascent adds USB-C charging near the third row and an interior light OFF switch that disables door-activated cabin lighting. Limited gains a new LED rear gate lamp. Deepwater Blue Pearl joins the color palette.

These are targeted convenience updates. A 2026 Ascent already offers the three-row layout and turbocharged powertrain that make Ascent worth considering.

Why consider a remaining 2026 Ascent?

Start with the configuration you need. If a remaining 2026 has the seating, upholstery and equipment your family wants, compare it directly with a similar 2027. You do not need the newer year simply to get a three-row Ascent with seven- or eight-passenger choices.

Make the seating layout your first decision

Try the second-row bench or captain’s chairs with your usual passengers. Bring your child seats, check third-row access and see how your stroller or luggage fits with the seats you will use. Eight-passenger seating is not available on every trim, so verify the selected vehicle rather than relying on a general Ascent description.

Questions before you choose

Is the 2027 Ascent a complete redesign?

The official 2027 announcement describes convenience and color updates. This guide does not treat expectations about a future Ascent as specifications for the 2027 model.

Do I need 2027 for USB-C?

No. The 2026 already offers USB-C in the front and second rows. The 2027 change adds it near third-row passengers.

Which year is the better buy?

Compare actual vehicles and itemized quotes. The seating arrangement, equipment and your budget may matter more than a small model-year change.
